Grand-Nephew of Monsignor Bradley of Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle Dies in New Jersey Auto Collision

BlessedSacramentMonsignor William J. Bradley of Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle broke down in tears at each mass yesterday as he shared with parishioners the tragic news that just hours before his grand-nephew Paul Bradley, 18, had been killed in an automobile collision in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

"The family is devastated", Msgr. Bradley said on the telephone. "At 18 years of age he had his whole life ahead of him". Msgr. Bradley will be giving the homily at the funeral on Thursday in Middletown, NJ.

Wikipedia logoSomeone has putting in quite an effort over the past year to manipulate the Wikipedia article for the City of New Rochelle. Some editors there have complained that someone is turning the article into a "Paean to commercial development". One person was banned and then showed up as in other guises. Sound familiar? Have a look for yourself.

For those not familiar with Wikipedia there is an article page but also a discussion page where editors of the page can discuss changes to the article. Some of the discussion will sound familiar to Talk of the Sound readers:

L. Post 8 Commanders, Tom O"Keefe, and the 2 previous Commanders, Gene McLeer and Larry Meyers, presenting George with a "Certificate of Appreciation" from the Post 8 membership for Latimer's almost 2 years of tireless work, with others in the community, to obtain a New York State CCAP Grant of $50,000 for the much needed repair of the Post's windows and roof.

Iona College Secures 20 Win Season with Victory over Fairfield, Locks Up No. 2 Seed in MAAC Championship

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College men's basketball team clinched the No. 2 seed in next weekend's Spark Energy MAAC Championship with a 74-69 win over first place Fairfield in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Hynes Center. A capacity crowd saw the Gaels (20-10, 13-5 MAAC) hold off the Stags (23-6, 15-3 MAAC) on Senior Day.
