This is Part XIV in Series.

This series has generated phone calls, emails and letters dropped in my mailbox asking why I did not say this or that about various persons. Simple, it only seems like I know everything. I rely on sources to provide information so if you provide it I can do something with it. So let me take a breather from recounting my experiences of gathering information over the past few years to share with readers the updates I have been getting since this series first started to run.

This is Part XIII in a Series.

That Zayac story was monstrously long so I am going to offer up a short one on corruption involving the Athletic Department in New Rochelle. It has come onto my radar many times is various schemes by district employees to make money off the athletic program in the New Rochelle schools. I may expand on some of these stories later.

Iona Women's Lacrosse Tops UMass Lowell At Mazzella, 12-6

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College lacrosse team moved to 2-1 in early season play wth a 12-6 victory over UMass Lowell Wednesday afternoon at Mazzella Field.  Following an early two-goal deficit, the Gaels scored three straight and never trailed again in the contest.

Junior Mary Kate McCormick matched a career high with eight points in the contest on three goals and five assists. The five helpers are one shy of a single-game program record.

Astorino Announces Spring 2015 Hudson Valley Restaurant Week

ELMSFORD, NY -- Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino joined Janet Crawshaw, publisher of The Valley Table magazine, and other sponsors at Captain Lawrence Brewing Company in Elmsford Tuesday to announce Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW).

During HVRW, which runs from March 9 to 22, diners will have the chance to sample incredible cuisine offerings from more than 100 restaurants sourced through local produce throughout Westchester.

Rye, NY -- Westchester County honored five African-Americans for their professional and civic accomplishments at the 16th annual Black History Month and Trailblazer Awards ceremony on Thursday. The Trailblazer Awards is sponsored by the Office of County Executive Robert P. Astorino, the county Board of Legislators and the county's African American Advisory Board. The event was held at the Jay Property in Rye, NY.

Women's Basketball Stopped By Fairfield, 74-62

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A valiant second half comeback came up just short as the Iona College women's basketball team fell to Fairfield 74-62 Thursday evening at the Hynes Athletics Center.

Senior guard Damika Martinez scored a game-high 28 points in the contest, knocking down 12 field goals in the process, one shy of matching a season high. Martinez has now scored 2,535 points in her career, and sits tied for 47th on the all-time Division I scoring list.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, February 10, 2009, Danbury Police responded to a report of an unresponsive person near the Padanaram Reservoir in Danbury, Connecticut. Police discovered the body of a light-skinned Latino male in his late thirties with two bullet holes in his chest. The body was later identified as that of Edward Rivera of the Bronx.
