NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Washington Seminar Trip is a great opportunity for our juniors to experience our nation's capital. From the Capitol Building, to the Holocaust Museum, to the many memorials scattered around D.C., the girls are surrounded by the history of our nation. To fit in with the curriculum, juniors walk around the WWII memorial, follow a person's holocaust story throughout the museum, watch documentaries focusing on 9/11 and the history of the news at the Newseum, and laugh throughout the entirety of the play “Shear Madness.”

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The members of the Class of 2016 went on their Senior Class Overnight Retreat filled with bonding, prayer, reflection and personal renewal.  The girls were joined on their retreat by members of the faculty and administration who led the reatreat, held at the Archdiocese of Newark Retreat Center in New Jersey.  This retreat experience allowed them to examine their personal relationship with God while also building a stronger bond with their classmates. The retreat concluded with Mass and video to celebrate their time together.

NEW YORK, NY -- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the conviction of Basel Ramadan, the ring leader of a criminal enterprise that flooded New York City, Albany County and Schenectady County with more than a million cartons of untaxed cigarettes illegally imported from Virginia. Basel Ramadan, 44 of Maryland, was found guilty on 198 counts, including Enterprise Corruption, Money Laundering, and numerous tax crimes by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Dineen A. Riviezzo.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Womens Cross Country team headed to Massachusetts over the weekend to run at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic.  The team and top individual results are below:

The top teams in the Women's Varsity 6k race at the Purple Valley Classic were Williams in 1st place with 39 points, Middlebury in 2nd place with 66 points, MIT in 3rd place with 69 points, Geneseo in 4th place with 75 points, and Amherst in 5th place with 117 points.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The College of New Rochelle Women's Volleyball team hit the double-digit plateau in wins Saturday as they defeated both Pratt Institute and Davis College in HVIAC league action.  CNR swept both conference opponents by 3-0 margins to improve to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the league. In game one CN made it quick downing Pratt 25-12, 25-12, and 25-17.  In the second game for the Blue Angels they handled Davis 25-12, 25-13, 25-13.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College men's water polo team completed a four-game CWPA Northern Division home weekend with losses to MIT and Harvard at the Hynes Center Pool. The Gaels and Engineers needed overtime to resolve the outcome, a heartbreaking 18-16 defeat for the home team in the opener. The No. 18 Crimson jumped out to an early lead in the night cap to earn a 22-13 win.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- he Monroe College men's soccer team improved to 7-0-1 on the season with a 6-1 win over Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey on Saturday.  The team remains unblemished and ranked #1 in the country.

Jordan Kinoshi led the way for the Mustangs with a pair of goals and an assist.  The other goal scorers were Niall Smith, Dauda Kenneh, Jorge Paez and Andreas Time.  The assists in the game were recorded by Evan Finnegan, Time, Kinoshi and Kenneh.
