New Rochelle School District Cited for Multiple Federal and State Work-Place Safety Violations Linked to Illegal Use of Banned Toxic Chemicals

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New York State Department of Labor Public Employee Safety and Health Bureau has issued five notices of violations, one "serious" and four "non-serious", to the City School District of New Rochelle following a four-month investigation into occupational safety hazards related to the use of banned chemical cleaning products throughout the district. Each violation includes the threat of fines, ranging from $50 to $200 a day, for failing to correct the violations by specified deadlines.

New Rochelle Little League Team Defeats East Amherst in State Championship, 15-1

EAST GREENBUSH, NY -- The New Rochelle Little League U-11 team defeated East Amherst 15-1 in their first game of the New York State Little League Championship being held in East Greenbush, NY.

New Rochelle’s offense was paced by Danny DiEdwards, Timmy Virtudes and Luke Nascimento who each smacked a home run. New Rochelle’s pitchers Ethan Richmond, Sean Mcreery and Joseph Fama combined to keep East Amherst to one run. AJ Rodriguez, Nicolas Mezzaucella, Jake Baldassare, Matt Sharp, Logan Lynch and Greg Fazio all saw action Saturday.

Werner K. Schlupp Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Werner Schlupp passed away peacefully Monday, May 23, 2016 with his wife by his side. He was 84. Werner was born March 4, 1932 and lived his whole life in New Rochelle. A Korean War veteran, he proudly served on the U.S.S. Murray for four years in the Navy. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Sonja Luehrs, his three children Susan Fow, Jimmy and Kenny Schlupp, his six grandchildren and five great grand children. Werner was best known for his love of history, ability to fix anything, positive outlook, sense of humor and love for his family.
