WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Today, another local law enforcement group announced its endorsement of freshman State Senator Terrence Murphy.  The Westchester County Correction Superior Officers Association (WCCSOA) represents more than 115 correctional supervisors serving at the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- On Thursday, October 13th at 7:30 p.m., The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will present an advance screening of the new movie Coming Through the Rye (PG-13, 1 hr. 37 mins.) featuring Academy Award winning actor, Chris Cooper, followed by a discussion and Q&A with the Emmy Award winning filmmaker James Sadwith. The movie opens nationwide on Friday, October 14th.

ALBANY, NY -- The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) today announced it will hold a public statement hearing regarding a joint proposal submitted by Suez Water New York Inc. (SWNY) and the New York State Department of Public Service staff, and filed with the Commission on September 2, 2016. Along with various other changes to the terms and conditions of SWNY’s provision of water service, the proposal outlines an increase in rates for water service provided by SWNY for three years, beginning February 1, 2017.

NEW YORK, NY -- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman, New York State Police (NYSP), and the Massachusetts DEA Task Force today announced the indictment of more than two dozen people for their roles in an alleged national heroin smuggling ring.

The investigation, dubbed “Operation Dirty Dope,” seized more than 33 kilos of heroin and 2 kilos of Fentanyl, with a total street value of more than $13 million.

NEW YORK, NY -- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced a settlement with Trump International Hotels Management LLC, d/b/a Trump Hotel Collection (“THC”), involving data breaches resulting in the exposure of over 70,000 credit card numbers and other personal data. THC has agreed to pay $50,000 in penalties and to shore up its data security practices.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Students from Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle joined a worldwide effort to "fight for trash-free seas" on Sept. 17.

The school's Pay It Forward Club participated in the International Coastal Cleanup, an annual service day organized by Ocean Conservancy. Students picked up debris from the beach and recorded what they found.
