One of the region’s most popular children’s performers is returning to the New Rochelle Public Library, and he’s bringing all kinds of hilarious antics, clever magic tricks, and side-splitting fun for all ages.  What a great way to wrap-up 2016 and look forward to the start of a new year! Seating is on a first-come, first-served to the 138-seat capacity of the Ossie Davis Theater, Main Library. Made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library.

Under the direction of music aficionado Robert Puleo, the talented adults of the “Sing Your Heart Out” classes will present a culminating concert with music of Christmas, Hanukah, and other winter celebrations. The singers have been meeting every Saturday for several months, preparing for this grand finale performance in the New Rochelle Public Library’s Ossie Davis Theater. Free

Children ages 5 years and older are invited to make three wonderful gifts to give to family, friends or teachers this holiday season. The instructors provide the materials and the help, as well as wrapping and gift tags, in the main library’s meeting room.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --All ages are invited to the New Rochelle Public Library’s annual Family Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 11th at 3:00 pm. The versatile and lively band, Ursaville, will celebrate the joys of the holiday season in a festive concert that will engage and delight the audience. Ursaville’s sound begins at the center of folk but tends to freely travel, visiting rock, pop, jazz, latin, and more, on its way. The listener is carried on a journey through an array of instruments, blending both the traditional and the unusual.

Astorino Announces new Diabetes Prevention Program

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced that the Westchester County Health Department is launching a new diabetes awareness campaign that encourages residents to identify their risk for diabetes and make lasting lifestyle changes to improve their health.

The campaign includes bilingual Bee-Line bus shelter and bus ads that encourage residents to take a prediabetes risk assessment test, promoting and leading diabetes prevention classes offered through the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program, and a new bilingual educational brochure.

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Researchers at the White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care are evaluating patients with lung cancer for participation in nationally recognized clinical trials.  Patients with late-stage locally advanced or metastatic lung cancer may be eligible for recruitment into an ongoing multi-center clinical study.

Former ESPN Head To Join Iona Faculty

The announcement was made at Iona’s fourth SEMI-Annual Honors Reception on November 15 at the Paley Center for Media in Midtown Manhattan.
