Bee-line Bus Fares Change March 19 Under the MTA Fare Increase

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Effective Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 12:01 a.m., the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) fare increase for the New York City Transit System will go in effect for all Bee-Line bus routes except the BxM4C Westchester-Manhattan Express. The Bee-Line buses use the MTA’s MetroCard system. However, the $58 fee for monthly student MetroCards, will not be increased by Westchester County.

Monroe Men’s Basketball Earns National Tournament Appearance with 57-55 Win at Harford

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Monroe Men's Basketball coach Jeff Brustad added another superlative to what has already been a remarkable year from him and the team after they won the District 3 Championship with a 57-55 victory over Harford CC in a game played in Bel Air, Maryland on Friday.

For Brustad, the 2016-17 season highlights included his 400th win at the College, his tenth Region XV championship, and now his seventh district title and invitation to the national tournament.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Monroe Women's Basketball Head Coach Garfield 'Ricky' Johns transformed the team into national contenders in less than two seasons. In his first year, the team had just 10 wins. On Friday, they won the District 3 Championship with a 68-57 victory over Harford and are heading to Nationals. The team's overall record for the year is 21-6.

Men’s Track and Field Earns Three Podium Finishes at Nationals

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Men's Track and Field team ended their successful season with three podium finishes at the NJCAA National Championships last weekend.

The most outstanding performance came from Kasique Oliver. Oliver went all out and rapidly took the lead in the Men's 800m final. Oliver finished second with an impressive time of 1:52.05, a personal best. Oliver also received Track Athlete of the Year in the Atlantic Region that week.

James Majenge put forth another strong performance. Majenge was 8th overall in the 1000m final, with a time of 2:35.59.

Iona MBB Tabbed No. 14 Seed, to Face No. 3 Oregon in Round of 64 on Friday in Sacramento

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The No. 14 seed Iona College men’s basketball team - the back-to-back MAAC Champions - will take on No. 3 Oregon in the Round of 64 as part of the Midwest Region of the 2017 NCAA Championship at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA on Friday, March 17. Tip off is scheduled for 2:00 pm ET/11:00 am PT. 

Oregon claimed a No. 3 seed after achieving a 29-5 overall mark, and 16-2 in Pac-12 Conference play, tying for a first place finish in the regular season with Arizona. The Ducks were ranked No. 5 in both the USA Today Coaches and AP polls last Monday, March 6.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College softball program fell to Weber State and UC Riverside on Sunday afternoon.  The Gaels combined three runs on the day, anchored by senior shortstop Katie Newton who ended the day with two hits and two runs batted in.

GAME ONE: Weber State 3, Iona 2

The Maroon & Gold jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Newton singled down the right field line to score sophomore right fielder Marisa Gergel and senior leftfielder Ashlyn Morris.
