NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The talented chorale group, Cantemus, returns to the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library on Sunday, May 21, from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm for their annual performance of classics, pop tunes, opera, and Broadway melodies—all woven together with an engaging and often amusing narrative. The ensemble of singers, under the direction of Jena Smith and accompanied by pianist Marianne Salzman, will explore the many facets of love and peace, employing humor, truth, and sublime music.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle songs and songwriters will be celebrated in a delightful concert on Saturday, May 6th, at 3:00 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. The “Sing Your Heart Out” Chorus, under the direction of Robert Puleo, will perform a program of songs about New Rochelle, including Forty-five Minutes from Broadway, and songs written by former New Rochelle residents, such as Sunrise, Sunset, from Fiddler on the Roof, by Jerry Boch and Joseph Stein, Vincent, by Don McLean, Send in the Clowns, by Stephen Sondheim, and many more.

Anthony Stirpe to Receive Apple Distinguished Educator Award

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Anthony Stirpe, who leads the innovative writing and filmmaking program at New Rochelle High School, will receive the Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) award.

The distinction is given to a select handful of educators from across the world for setting trends and transforming the lives of students through technology. The award also recognizes the educators for bringing positive change to the school and the wider community.

Middle School Drop-In Program

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --The Middle School Drop-In Program offers a variety of activities for youth in grades 5th, 6th, and 7th (completed as of June, 2017).  It runs from June 26th - August 4th (no program on July 4th) from 10:00am to 3:00pm.  Activities include but are not limited to, arts and crafts, sports (basketball, volleyball and soccer), board games and much more.  Peanut-free lunch included.  The supply free of $60.00 is due at the time of registration. The program takes place at both middle schools (Isaac E Young Middle School and Albert Leonard Middle School).
