Joseph M. Guadagnoli Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Joseph M. Guadagnoli, passed away on September 26, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born in New Rochelle, on February 15, 1938 to the late Joseph and Josephine. 'Joe' Guadagnoli. He graduated from New Rochelle High School 1956 and served in the US Army in Korea, before he began his career in the beverage industry at Pepsi Cola in Mount Vernon in 1959 where he rose to the position of General Manager. Joe continued his career in 1979 at Perrier Group of America, where he spent the next 27 years. He retired May 2006 as a National General Manager for half the nation.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Ursuline Sister Gloria Marie Sullivan, O.S.U. died peacefully at Andrus-on-Hudson on September 26, 2016. She was one of four children born to Joseph A. Sullivan and Mary A. Phillips in Yonkers, New York. Her parents and her brother, Rev. Jordan Sullivan, O.F.M. Cap predeceased her. She earned a B.S. from the College of New Rochelle and M.S. Degree from Fordham University. She entered the Ursuline Novitiate in 1949. 


Robert F. McCormick Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Robert passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016.

Robert was a resident of New Rochelle, New York at the time of passing.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Church in Ossining on Friday, September 30th at 10 am, with visitation at 9 am. 

In addition, a wake will be held on Thursday, September 29th at St. Augustine's School from 5:30 ' 8:30 pm. 

Burial will follow the Mass at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in New Rochelle.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Giacinta Mary Armiento Hughes was born in New Rochelle, NY on November 8, 1924 to Vito and Maria Simone Armiento. She graduated from Albert Leonard High School in New Rochelle in 1942 and worked as bookkeeper. She married Felix "Pete" Hughes at St Gabriel's Church in New Rochelle in 1949. Survived by their son Felix "Hap" Hughes (Donna), grandchildren Felix (Robin) and Catherine Marie Hughes and two great grandchildren, Riley Lee Ann and Ryder Skye. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard V. Armiento.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- To provide students with greater opportunities to visit and explore a variety of nearby work environments, My Brother’s Keeper New Rochelle has launched “Take a Student Ambassador to Work Day” on April 27th to coincide with the national “Take Your Son/Daughter to Work” campaign.

Currently, 30 students including a mix of MBK male Student Ambassadors and female students from New Rochelle High School’s Girls Mentoring Club have one-day externships lined up at corporations and organizations in Manhattan, New Rochelle, Westchester County and Long Island.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Westchester County residents can bring their dogs, cats and ferrets in for free rabies vaccinations on Sunday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stamen Animal Hospital, 61 Quaker Ridge Road in New Rochelle.  Call 914-632-1269 to schedule a required appointment.

Cats and ferrets must be in carriers and dogs must be on a leash. Aggressive dogs must be muzzled. No examinations will be given and all pets must be supervised by an adult.

Rape Arrests

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle Police detectives arrested two men in regards to a reported rape that occurred earlier this week.  The victim is a sixteen year old female who reported that she had met two men at a Sickles Ave apartment sometime this past Saturday night/Sunday morning.  The victim alleged that during the night the three consumed alcohol and drugs, and at some point she was forced to have sex with both men.  The victim was treated at a local hospital and released to family members.
