First, by way of update since I received a harassing phone call from the New Rochelle Police last week, at the behest of Vinny Mirabile, there has been no resolution.

On June 23, City Manager Charles B. Strome indicated that the New Rochelle Police Department had received my Internal Affairs Complaint and would get me the records I requested under a Freedom of Information request.

“You should get all the stuff you asked for in your FOIL request and a formal response to your Internal Affairs complaint,” Strome said in an email.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Hundreds of cars unexpectefly descended on Davenport Neck Sunday morning causing traffic gridlock that left residents and beach club members and guests stranded. Police and city officials received many angry telephone calls from area residents, beach clubs and their members. The primary culprit, overflow crowds for an Eid al-fitr celebration at the V.I.P. Club.

"I received 47 phone calls," said City Council Member Albert Tarantino."I saw cars backed up on Church to Pelham Road all the way back to Centre Avenue."

We are in the process of reporting out on corruption in New Rochelle involving Vincent Mirabile, a retired New Rochelle Police Detective with a long and sordid past. We will get into those topics soon enough but in the process of reporting on Mirabile and the goings on with his business, Cousins Cigar & Hookah Lounge, matters took an unexpected turn.

Mary L. Megerditchian Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Mary L. Megerditchian a longtime resident of New Rochelle passed away at home on October 11, 2016 surrounded by her family. Mary was pre deceased by her beloved husband Zaven who owned Carpet Fair, a business in Larchmont for over 40 years. She was the loving mother of Louise, George (Joanne) and Esther Picone (Anthony). Adoring grandmother of George, Steven and Nicholas. Visiting Thursday 4-9 pm with a wake service at 7:30 PM at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. Funeral service Friday 9:30 am also at Fox Funeral Home.
