NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Oscar passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

Oscar was a resident of New Rochelle, New York at the time of passing.

Visiting will be on Friday 3-7pm at Lloyd Maxcy Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Place New Rochelle.Mass will be on Saturday at 10:20am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Roland A.J. deLewinski Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Roland A.J. deLewinski, a resident of New Rochelle and formerly from Yonkers, died on December 20, 2016. He was 95.

Roland was born on September 7, 1921 in NYC to the late Arnold J. and Hortense (Brand) deLewinski. He served as a bomber pilot in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater and worked in sales for Electrolux for over 40 years.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mildred Huff on April 8, 2014 and his son Richard and his son-in-law Anthony J. Rusciano.

New Rochelle Launches Investigation into Publication of Mocking Images of Intellectually Disabled Youngsters on Social Media

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle City officials have initiated an investigation into the publication of a video on social media which depicts an intellectually disabled child being shoved by a summer camp coordinator. A separate photo of another child from a different incident was also published.

FINALLY: New Rochelle Schools Locksmith Teed Up for Termination

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Werner Graefe, a locksmith for the City School District of New Rochelle was suspended Thursday for 30 days without pay pending an Article 75 hearing, a civil service proceeding for removal and other disciplinary action. He is expected to be terminated as a result.

Sources tell Talk of the Sound, Graefe was found to have left work after punching back in after lunch - stealing time. There are other reports that he was insubordinate, refusing to wear the new departmental uniforms for Buildings & Grounds.

Two Injured as Man Struck Crossing North Avenue, Slammed into Windshield in Downtown New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A man was seriously injured in New Rochelle Saturday evening as he walked across the street with takeout food from a nearby restaurant. He was struck by a car near the crosswalk in front of 230 North Avenue. The man appears to have been making a delivery for Caridad & Louie Restaurant located in the 5 Anderson Building across the street from where the collision occurred.
