Celebrating its 100th anniversary, Iona Prep is enhancing its annual President’s Dinner with a new venue and will honor two influential individuals in the community: husband and wife, Alfred F. Kelly, Jr. and Margaret (Peggy) Parlatore Kelly.

PELHAM, NY -- Documentary filmmaking as an art form has never been hotter and, as The New York Times put it, it is where “all the cool kids are.” To celebrate this important film genre, The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) has named November “Doc Month.” TPH will be showing a wide variety of documentaries – many award-winning – throughout the month with all films playing in the theater’s intimate 14-seat Screening Room.

The proposed tax levy increase is 2.03%, the maximum allowable under the New York State tax cap legislation.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Open Enrollment is the time each year when you can sign up for health insurance if you don’t already have coverage through your job, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, or another sort of health coverage - or shop around for better coverage if you already have insurance through the State exchange. The majority of states are on the federal exchange and use HealthCare.gov, which means individuals must sign up by December 15, but here in New York, the deadline has been extended to January 31, 2018.

You must be at least 16 to participate and must be available to work weekdays weekends and holidays!. Only the applicants who arrive on time will be permitted to take part. The participant should come dressed to impress. The Audition may take up to three hours. A slice of pizza and soda will be given to the participants.

PELHAM, NY -- Pelham Art Center’s popular Diwali, Hindu Festival of Lights, returns as part of its Folk Arts Series on Saturday, December 3 from 1:30-3:30 pm. Join us for this colorful and festive event with a free ancient Indian classical dance performance, traditional hands-on art workshops and receive Mehendi henna body art from artist Manjula Kandaswamy. Dancer Liza Joseph will present Mohiniyattam dance from the state of Kerala, India. She will also teach a few of the simple hand gestures and footwork from the dance so the audience can join in.
