NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The program for the Feb. 10 Black History Month celebration at New Rochelle High School is growing.

- Hugh Price, New Rochelle resident, author, activist and former President of the National Urban League has joined the list of writers who will take part. He'll be signing his memoir, This African American Life.

- Derrick James, Director of the Renaissance Ensemble at New Rochelle High School will be honored. He is retiring this year.

- A professional performance by Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy will dazzle the audience.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City of New Rochelle will pay $20,000 a month for a prominent Democratic public relations firm to provide “crisis management” services to the New Rochelle Board of Education.

In a further sign that the Mayor, having hand-picked school board members for years, has taken effective control of the school system, Noam Bramson has "hired" Risa Heller, a Democratic political operative with close ties to Anthony Weiner. She has kept a "Hillary" pillow on her office couch. 

STAB CITY, USA: Man Seriously Wounded in Knife Attack Five Blocks from New Rochelle High School

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A 32-year old man was seriously wounded Friday evening following a knife attack involving two assailants, one of whom came at him from behind.

New Rochelle Police Department Captain Robert Gazzola said the man told officers that as he was walking on Winthrop Avenue between Brook Street and North Avenue when he was grabbed from behind by one male, as a second male approached him from the front.  The victim stated one male said, “got you now.”  He stated he was then punched several times and stabbed in the thigh with what he believes to be knife.
