Talk of the Sound Obtains Advance Copy of Draft Report on School Violence in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Dr. Jonathon Brice, Chair of the Task Force on Reducing Violence in the Lives of Children and Youth. distributed today a draft of the Task Force report to all Task Force members and solicited feedback from them. Brice also distributed the draft report to the New Rochelle Board of Education, the City Manager and the Mayor in the belief that the report will likely be made public through social media. Brice expects to announce a date for a public meeting to present the recommendations of the Task Force.

If I had been a member of the BOE during the current budget process, I would have voted yes on the budget.

BROOKLYN, NY — The sludge-metal sound and fury of Melvins rocked Brooklyn Friday night at Warsaw, a Polish community center that serves as a concert venue in Greenpoint.

A Melvins performance is less a concert and more a physical event, for those in front of the stage more an endurance contest as a throbbing mass of fans surge in waves towards the wall of speakers, raising willing fans up over the mosh pit towards the front of the stage where expectant security guards grabbed them and re-directed them back out into the audience.
