The Thomas Paine Cottage Museum, 20 Sicard Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10804, a not-for-profit historic house museum, formerly the home of the famous founding father and currently the headquarters of the Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association, is pleased to announce its annual "In the Spirit of Thomas Paine" Awards.

This first .annual award sponsored by the Cottage in New Rochelle is given to a recipient who is a broadcast or print journalist, commentator or author who exemplifies, on a national level, in Paine's own words,

"But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants is the liberty of appearing."

Its recipient will be the keynote speaker and have a book signing at the Awards Dinner to be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the VIP Country Club, 600 Davenport Avenue, New Rochelle. Cocktails and the book signing will begin at 6 p.m, and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

Community Award recipients will be local persons and organizations whose actions strive to enhance the community.
