A Westchester County Park Pass is your key to enjoying more than 50 recreational facilities this summer, from pools and beaches, parks and golf courses, and to nature preserves, and even an amusement park and a working farm. And, you can get your pass now at convenient locations throughout the county.
Passes are available to any county resident age 12 and older who has either a driver’s license or photo identification with proof of Westchester residency.
The Park Pass is a photo identification card that provides you with admission to all county-owned parks, pools and beaches. One park pass holder can bring two adults and children under age 12 into all county swimming facilities. Regular admission fees apply to each guest.
The pass also entitles the holder to discounts on golf and on parking fees where applicable.
An individual pass costs $60 and is valid for three years from date of issue. It must be obtained in person. It is non-transferable and can only be used by its owner.Read more
(New York, NY) -- Con Edison is sponsoring a “Get Out the Vote” poster design contest for students to encourage and show the power of voting in this fall’s elections.
New York City or Westchester County students who are at least 13 years old and who will be in high school in September are eligible.
“We’re calling on our next generation of civic leaders to illustrate the importance and privilege of our freedom to vote, the hallmark of our democracy. The contest will engage students in promoting voter registration and participating in the November elections,” said Frances A. Resheske, Con Edison senior vice president for public affairs.
A panel of judges, comprised of two executives of nonprofit organizations involved with the arts and three company employees, will chose six finalists from the poster entries. The winning design will be selected by Con Edison employees during a week-long intranet poll.Read more

(New York, NY) – Con Edison expects customers’ gas bills to decrease again due to lower natural gas prices. Residential gas heating bills are expected to drop 11.5 percent from last year – saving customers an average of $42 per month.
Natural gas costs less than heating oil.
The 2011-2012 average gas-heating winter bill from November to March is expected to be approximately $322 per month, down from $364 during this time last year. The amount is based on monthly usage of 236 therms.
Con Edison delivers gas to 1.1 million customers in Manhattan, the Bronx, and parts of Queens and Westchester County. On Sunday, these customers helped set a new distribution load record as Con Edison delivered 979,191 dekatherms of gas in one day. That broke the company’s old record of 967,908 dekatherms on January 3, 2010.
