NYS Instant E-mail Alert System
NEW YORK- State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/ Westchester) announced the launch of a new alert system Monday that provides instant email notification to New York State residents when a sex offender moves into their zip code. Individuals can register for the alerts through the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services website.
Klein and Assemblyman Rory Lancman (D-Queens) fought for the technological tool and sponsored legislation, signed into law by Governor Paterson last fall, making information regarding the location of registered sex offenders more accessible and convenient for millions of New Yorkers.
“New Yorkers deserve to have the convenience and peace of mind that these email alerts bring. These emails are another valuable safety tool in helping to protect our children from the kind of unsavory individuals who are, in many cases, our neighbors,” said Senator Klein.Read more

Yesterday (10/19/2009) there was a pretty scary accident on Pelham Road, almost directly in front of Trinity School. The accident occurred about 12:30.
A neighbor who is an EMT in Mamoreneck was the first to respond, he happened to be home and lives almost in front of the accident. The city responded with 3 firetrucks, the Critical Incident Truck, and numerous police cars. A Fireman entered the vehicle while it was on its side to help out the driver.
It seems as if the SUV flipped on it's side when it struck a parked minivan.
The SUV was supported by blocks/wedges of wood to give it stability.
The driver was taken away in an ambulance, but according to a policemen on the scene she wasn't seriously injured.
You can see the damage to the minivan by the rear driver's side tire.
As always the NRPD and the NRFD responded professionally and quickly. The accident was cleared just in time for the Trinity dismissal which is a nightmare on a regular day!Read more
Thick white smoke could be seen billowing from the garage area of the New Rochelle Streets and Highways building at 40 Pelham Road today, Sunday, 9/27 at 8:45am. Police blocked off Pelham Road in front of the building. Multiple fire engines could be seen fighting the fire from the parking lot of the marina. Other engines were working from Pelham Road.
We went to the Oyster Festival this evening and spoke to two firemen. They said it was a "2 Alarm" fire and all city firemen were called to the scene. The firemen started working on the fire at 7:30am and it was out before noon.
The fire started inside the garage, possibly from a city truck. The fire spread to the ceiling. The smoke had a petroleum chemical smell. There was a lot of damage to the building, particularly the roof.
Three firemen were taken by ambulance to Sound Shore Medical Center and released. The firemen were taken for smoke inhalation, and one fell down stairs. They were released today.
Several firemen had already left to run in the Tunnel to Tower run for 9-11 American hero Stephen Siller. They were not called back to the scene.

You just don't get it, do you? I posted that somewhere a village is being deprived( as in village idiot), and you continue to feed the fire by subatantiating all of the claims against Mr D. Does HE know who you are? The more you try to defend him, the closer people are going to look at this. You provide nothing that could explain or defend him. You " proved" he doesn't drive after 3:30. Let's look at this. Home at 3:30, that's about a half hour per day he's not at his job. Through the year, that's about 4,327.00 in salary he's collecting while not on the job. (based on an average salary of $75,000.00) Gas @10 miles per day @ 10 miles per gallon would be about $720.00 (assuming he ONLY drives to and from work, and you suggest he does more). Insurance- the van is in his possession more than half of the year so let's call it $1,000.00. This doesn't take into consideration the lawsuits against the district if he's involved in an accident while not on school business (could be millions). So far, that's over $6,000.00 per year (conservatively). So now, because you've become so impotent in "defending" Mr D the only path left is to half-assed try to distract people from the issue with the inappropriate use of confidential info. That in itself is probably a felony. Mr Cox is not now, or ever has been the issue.Read more
