NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Ann Gerwien, a former New Rochelle resident died on November 26, 2015. She was 82. Ann was born on August 12, 1933 in New Rochelle, to the late Lawrence and Rose DiPalma. She worked as a Respiratory Aid at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport Ct., for many years. She is survived by her children: Robert Fatone, Thomas (Jennifer) Fatone and Patricia Fatone and her companion Thomas Masi; her grandson Grayson and her sister Alma Maffucci.She is also survived by her nieces Laura Ashley and Nancy Semenza, nephew Michael Maffucci and grandnieces Patricia Ashley and Jennie Paton. Even though she resided in Connecticut, she always was a true New Rocheller. She expressed that she would have loved to live in NYC where everything was happening. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Being an avid reader she had a vast knowledge of nutrition and natural foods. She loved to research subjects at length and was knowledgable on many subjects. A long time Conservative, she was interested in politics and autobiographies of famous celebrities. Visiting will be Wednesday morning from 9:00am 10:15am at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
