Elizabeth M. “Betty” Provenzano Obituary

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Elizabeth “Betty” M. Provenzano, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on December 9, 2016. She was 65.

Elizabeth was born on November 5, 1951 in NYC to the late George and Angela (DiPrinzio) Castellano.

She graduated from Herbert H. Lehman College and worked as a Promotions Coordinator for Rochas Fragrances in NYC for several years before working as the Practice Manager for the medical oncology practice of her husband, Anthony F. Provenzano, MD.

She was adored by her husband, children and grandchildren and was a source of comfort and strength to all the cancer patients whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband Anthony F. Provenzano, MD whom she married on March 18, 1979; her children, Juliette (David) Provenzano-Gober, MD and Frank (Sarah Hsu) Provenzano, PhD; her grandchildren, Penelope and Max Gober; her sisters, Joan Mizrahi, Virginia (John) Newton, Susan (James) McCabe, her brother, Thomas (Eileen) Castellano and her sister-in-law, Diana Calgi; her nieces, Elizabeth Tiano, Carol Newton, Christina Rowley, and her nephew, Matthew Newton.

Her kindness, charity and humility were unmatched.

Visiting hours will be Sunday 6-9PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle, NY 10805. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 10:30AM at Holy Family Church. Interment with follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NYP/Lawrence Hospital Cancer Center which she helped to establish.
