Iona College men’s basketball senior point guard Scott Machado was named Associated Press All-America Honorable mention

NCAA Machado(New Rochelle, NY) — Iona College men’s basketball senior point guard Scott Machado was named Associated Press All-America Honorable mention for his performance in the 2011-12 campaign.

Machado finished his senior campaign with a 13.6 ppg average and a NCAA Division leading 9.9 assists per game. Machado orchestrated the national’s top scoring (82.9 ppg) and playmaking (19.3 apg) team. The 2012 Pepsi Max MAAC Player of the Year led the Gaels to a 25-8 mark and an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. The bid was just the second at-large in conference history.

Machado will appear in the Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this Friday night.
