Iona Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Academic Honors

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona College lacrosse team was one of 87 programs recognized for its academic achievement, earning Division I Academic Squad status by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), the organization announced.

In order to achieve IWLCA Academic Squad recognition, teams must possess a 3.0 combined grade-point average or higher.

Additonally, three members of the team were among the more than 200 student-athletes named to the 2015 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll.  Recent graduate Blaire Nathanson, a marketing major, was recognized along with senior Mary Kate McCormick, a management major, and senior Hannah Fasano, a history major.

All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
