The Hawks used to first half goals from freshman LeAnne Davis and Miranda Konstantinides in route to their fifth league victory.

The Gaels lone first half shot in the game came in the 6th minute with freshman Katie Benson taking her first shot of the season.  Monmouth sophomore keeper, and three-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, Amanda Knaub stopped it diving her right.  Iona’s second shot came from junior Mariana Jaramillo in the closing minutes; this afternoon’s game ends a nine-game streak with at least one shot on goal.

Davis scored Monmouth’s first goal on a corner kick that was served in by sophomore Maddie Gibson towards the far post.  Gibson now has six assists on the year.  Konstantinides netted her second of the season on a penalty kick that Gibson drew while charging down the right side.
