NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Kimberly Collins, senior at New Rochelle High School, has been chosen among the nation's best for a weeklong experience in Washington, D.C. She will soon be sitting face-to-face with President Donald Trump as a Senate Youth Scholar.

“I am Vice President of New Rochelle High School, I am also a co-President of Black Culture Club, I'm a co-President of Christian Club, [and] I'm a member of Habitat for Humanity,” says Collins.

Collins does it all. But the most important thing she's learned is that hard work pays off.

She is one of two students in the state chosen for a highly competitive U.S. Senate Youth Program. Her goals include completing college, pursuing a graduate program, and hopefully, one day, becoming a U.S. senator.
