NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority (NRMHA) in association with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will launch HUD “Strong Families” Initiative and Smoke-Free Housing Campaign, Saturday-June 16th, 2018 – 345 Main Street, New Rochelle New York.
Effective July 1, 2018, The New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority, under the direction of HUD, will implement a Smoke-Free Housing Policy. The Housing Authority has taken a crucial step to improve public health by eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke and creating an environment that discourages smoking in public housing units.

By working collaboratively with public housing agencies, HUD's rule will create healthier homes for all of our families and prevent devastating and costly smoking-related fires." It reflects HUD’s commitment to create healthy communities.
Throughout the months of May and June, hundreds of PHA (Public Housing Authorities) are hosting events in communities around the country. These events are structured to bring together family and community. New Rochelle Housing Authority is excited about providing services and events whose sole purpose is to unify and empower the community.
New Rochelle Housing Authority have partnered with community organizations, elected officials and clergy to provide positive and impactful actives for the community. We especially appreciate the dedicated commitment and excellent support of the “Strong Families” Initiative sponsor Monroe College.
Community Activities includes: cookout, face painting, games, rides, health & wellness, basketball tournament, visits from Elected Officials, Community Organizations and Clergy.
