Man Throws Orange Juice in Girlfriend’s Face: New Rochelle police responded to the report of a physical dispute at Horton Avenue in New Rochelle on August 23 shortly after 11 p.m.

Complainant stated that while having a dispute with her ex-boyfriend over financial issues he splashed a cup of orange juice in her face. The complainant’s mother told police her daughter began yelling at the boyfriend prompting to him to push the complaint with both hands.

Beer Shoplifter Pinched at ShopRite: New Rochelle police arrested Hernando Gutierrez-Ramos and charged him with Petit Larceny after he was observed stealing about six dollars worth of beer from the ShopRite store on Joyce Road in New Rochelle. Police were called to the scene by the Loss Prevention Officer on August 23 at about 1 p.m.

The complainant stated that he had observed Gutierrez-Ramos on surveillance video stealing beer in the past. Complainant stated that on this occasion he followed Gutierrez-Ramos into the beer section of the store and observed as Gutierrez-Ramos select five cans of Keystone Ice beer off store shelves and place them in a yellow shopping bag. The total value of the items taken was $6.16.

iPhone Stolen at Regal Cinemas: New Rochelle police responded to the report of a larceny at the Regal Cinemas at 33 LeCount Place in New Rochelle on August 23 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The complainant, the manager at came to police headquarters to report that his cell phone was stolen earlier that morning. He stated that about 2:30 a.m. after he locked the doors to close the theater, 6 to 8 Male/Blacks asked be let in to find their friends. Complainant stated that he let them in but soon after the left a few minutes later he noticed his iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB mobile phone which left it on the counter was missing.

Marijuana Plants Uprooted: New Rochelle police responded to a report of drugs at Chauncey Avenue and North Avenue in New Rochelle on August 31 at about 5:40 a.m..

Complainant stated that he found two large marijuana plants and would like to turn them in. Police located the marijuana plants and confiscated them.

Sisters in Bloody Brawl: New Rochelle police arrested Maria Lopez after fighting with her sister in an apartment on Coligni Avenue in New Rochelle on August 31st at about midnight.

Maria Lopez met police when they arrived on scene with red blood running down her face and nose. She was visibly crying police could smell a heavy odor of alcohol coming from her breath. She was transported to Montefiore emergency room.

Inside the apartment building, police found a small amount of blood on the carpet in the hallway. There was also a large amount of blood on the radiator in Maria Lopez’s room, bed sheets and a comforter.

A dispute lead to the violence after Maria Lopez and her sister began arguing over Maria’s ex-boyfriend which led the two sister’s to pushing and punching each other. When the sister’s boyfriend attempted to separate them, Maria Lopez, punched him in the back of the head. Maria Lopez was punched in the nose by her sister which caused her nose to bleed.

The boyfriend carried Maria Lopez out of a bedroom, locked the door and called police.

Man Steals Ray-Bans from Unlocked Apartment: New Rochelle police arrested Michael Cruz on charges of burglary in the second degree and possession of stolen property after police responded to a report of a trespassing at Halstead New Rochelle Metro North.

The complainant stated that he came out of the shower in his apartment and noticed his front door ajar and a man later identified as Michael Cruz crouching next to his couch. Asked what he was doing, the man stated he was looking for “Jasmine”, that he was an escort showing her a “good time”.

Complaint told police he grabbed Cruz and kicked him out of the apartment. A few minutes later the complaint’s roommate entered the apartment and told him police were in the hallway with some guy. It was the same guy he had just kicked out of the apartment. Complainant checked his apartment and noticed his Ray-Ban sunglasses were missing from his room. Cruz had a black sunglasses case with Ray-Ban sunglasses inside which the complaint identified as the same ones missing from his apartment.

Cruz told police that he was visiting a friend he never met in Apartment 703, and he went to another floor and opened an apartment door but closed it when he realized it was the wrong door. When a woman came out of the apartment, he apologized. He then told police he went to the 22nd floor where he was supposed to relay a message to a friend of the friend he never met about dog sitting and then had an impulse and was caught in a bad case of “ding dong ditch” and found himself in the apartment where he saw a sunglasses case and took it without realizing there were sunglasses inside. When he left the apartment he ran into the police.

Pills Popped: New Rochelle police responded to the report of a past burglary at an apartment on Drake Avenue in New Rochelle on August 30th.

The complainant stated that 55 prescription pills were stolen from his apartment sometime between August 28th and August 30th. Initially, he was reluctant to report the missing pills because he thought he might have lost count but at some point later the entire bottle with the remaining pills was missing at which point he knew some had taken the pills.

The man stated he was out of his apartment the entire day and did not lock his front door. He suspected his neighbor may be responsible for the theft because the neighbor was in his apartment between the 19th and 20th of August with permission helping his wife with cooking and cleaning and she knew he had a prescription for the bills and a previously asked him for a few pills in the past.

Man Bites Woman, Flees Scene: New Rochelle police responded to New Rochelle Hospital emergency room on a report of a patient who stated that she was bitten by someone on North Avenue.

Complainant stated that she was at a party with two friends and a former boyfriend and that she decided to give each of them a ride home after the party. She stated that after dropping off her friends she drove her ex-boyfriend to his home where he asked repeatedly for her to go home with him. Complainant stated that after saying “no” several times he refused to get out of the car. She stated that she was going to call the police if he did not get out of the car at which point she and the other person got out of the vehicle. The man walked up to her and grabbed her by the throat. She stated that she was pushed against the front of the vehicle where the man placed both of his hands on her neck and began to strangle her. He stated that she could not breathe as a result. He was squeezing her neck so tightly that she grabbed his face to push him away and one of her fingers went into his mouth. He then bit down her finger would not let go. She was able to strike him in the groin with her free hand at which point she was able to get her finger out of his mouth. When the man saw all the blood coming from her finger he ran away towards North Avenue.

The complainant went to the emergency room where she encountered a New York State Trooper and advised him what had happened. The Trooper contacted New Rochelle police immediately. Police observed a laceration to her finger, also multiple scratches and bruises on her neck. Photos were taken she provided a written statement but she did not want to pursue charges.

Car Robbed After Texas Roadhouse Dinner: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a larceny at the New Roc City parking garage on August 30th at about midnight.

Complainant stated that he parked and locked his vehicle at about 9:30 p.m.. He went to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse and when he returned at about 11:00 p.m. he notice his cell phone and other items were missing. There was damage to the driver side lock.

New Roc security told police that the cameras in the area where the car was parked are under construction and he was not sure if they were working.

Marijuana Found in Suspect’s Underwear: New Rochelle police arrested a man for Criminal Possession of Marihuana – Fifth Degree, a violation. after a traffic stop at Memorial Highway on August 30 at about 2:15 PM.

A man name Fudge, said to be a known drug offender, was questioned during a traffic stop on Memorial Highway. Police detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver denied smoking marijuana. Fudge admitted to having used marijuana earlier. After Fudge was ordered out of the car, police observed a clear bag of marijuana sticking out of his underwear. Police were able to recover one clear sandwich bag contained marijuana and locate and recover nine clear sandwich bags of and a scale inside Fudge’s right pocket of his shorts.

Drunk Driver Busted on Kings Highway: New Rochelle police arrested Dayshawn Jackson of New Rochelle for drunk driving after he was pulled over by police  at the intersection of Kings Highway and Main Street in New Rochelle September 4 at about 3:30 a.m.

Jackson was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated – First Offense and Operating a Motor Vehicle with .08% of 1% or More Alcohol in Blood First Offense.

Man Shoved to Ground Over Cigarette: New Rochelle police responded to a report of physical dispute at the FHA Building at 41 Lockwood Avenue in New Rochelle.

A resident of the HFA home told police that another resident struck him without provocation and knocked him to the ground. He said he sustained minor scrapes to his knees and forehead. The other resident stated that the first resident asked him for cigarette and when he did not reply he felt threatened and shoved him.

Man Steals Sleeveless Shirt: New Rochelle police responded to a report of larceny on September 3 at about 4:20 PM at 388 Main Street in New Rochelle.

The complaint, owner of the 99 Cent Store at 388 Main Street stated that an unknown male stole from her store. She told police the man selected a sleeveless gray shirt, place it inside to shorts, and walked out of the store without paying for it. The man was described as a Male/Black, 5’ 10”. late 20s, large build with facial hair and wearing a gray tank top and  black shorts. Police canvassed the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

Elderly Woman Victim of PayPal Fraud: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a fraud on Locust Avenue on September 3rd for an incident that occurred between July 22nd and July 23rd.

The complainant, a walk-in, stated she wish to document fraud report for her elderly mother. Complainant stated she was advised that her mother received emailed invoice from PayPal credit card the tart charges totaling $1149.37 to the complaint’s account. Mother never had an active PayPal account. Please advise the woman to contact PayPal.

Strong-Arm Robbery Nets iPhone 5c: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a robbery at 51 Horton Avenue in New Rochelle on September 7th at about 11:00 p.m.

The complainant flagged down a police car to report that a large group approached him and asked him “if he wants any”. At that point he was punched multiple times and thrown to the ground. While on the ground the complaint was continuously kicked and punched, he may been shocked by a Taser. Complaint identified one Male/Black with the navy blue fitted hat and a white T-shirt who took his cell phone — a blue Apple iPhone 5C worth $500 – out of his pocket after which the group ran off. Complainant  was unable to describe any of the other assailants.

Complainant had noticeable injuries such as cuts on his face, back, fingers where he was punched and kicked multiple times. He did not not want medical treatment. Complainant did not want to press charges and just wanted his phone back.
