Noam Bramson Gets His Comeuppance

Written By: Robert Cox

Comeuppance

Never in New Rochelle politics have so many, contributed so much, to achieve so little.

Noam Bramson has now raised and spent $2 million in campaign funding over his 18 year political career.

After all that money and all that time all he has to show for it is an elected position as a part-time, ceremonial Mayor. Quite a way to blow two million bucks of other people’s money.

Despite a 2:1 party registration advantage, Noam Bramson was soundly trounced by Rob Astorino in the Westchester County Executive Race losing by a whopping 10 points in a race that should have been much closer.

It might have been closer had Noam not alienated many African-American voters by stepping over Ken Jenkins for the Democratic nomination.

It might have been closer if Noam had spent more time talking about issues pertinent to the job of County Executive than a pathetic attempt to run not on his record but a hodgepodge of focus-grouped national issues such as abortion, gun control and gay marriage (note to Noam, gay marriage has been legal in New York since 2011!)

It might have been closer if Noam had actually accomplished something as Mayor of New Rochelle — bike racks and hiking trails don’t count!

The simple fact is that Noam Bramson is an empty suit. And to Noam’s utter amazement, the voters of Westchester County are not actually as stupid as he would like to imagine.

For all intents and purposes, Noam Bramson’s political career is over.

Perhaps now is the time for Noam to really put his constituents first and find something other than serving as Mayor to occupy his time.

What New Rochelle needs is a leader who desires to serve as Mayor and is content with that and is not a blithering idiot. That would leave out Noam, Barry Fertel and Jared Rice.

But enough of what I think.

What do you think of Noam’s defeat and what that means for New Rochelle?

UPDATE: Board of Election results for New Rochelle Bramson 53 Astorino 47. In 2011, Bramson won the Mayor’s race 79-21. Quite a turnaround in just two years.

  1. Sussman
Was just curious about our liberal friend Brian Sussman? Is he ok? He made prediction after prediction on this site for months that Noam would be elected County Exec and turns out he was incredibly wrong! Now, Brian is nowhere to be found. Looking forward to Sussman’s tortured explanation about his boy blunder and the blow-out!

    1. Predicting Noam Bramson would
Predicting Noam Bramson would be the next CE was a serious miscalculation on Scuzman’s part. Bramson is losing support for “extremist” ideas left and right–no pun intended.

  2. Noam’s fall from grace
Two to one registration advantage, endorsements from President Clinton, Governor Cuomo, Senator Shumer & God-Mother Lowey yet Noam got trounced by 10%.

I guess Noam is not the smartest person in the room.

The “heads” Noam doesn’t count while governing head-butted Noam into submission.

Let’s face it; Noam is a big fish in a little pond. Twice he tried to swim in the ocean and both Tocci & Astorino slapped him back to reality. Noam the rich kid disrespected Ken Jenkins so the African Americans rightfully stayed home.

This is Noam’s MO, he alienates different segments of the community whenever they disagree with the Boy Blunder. His national issues blue smoke & mirror campaign fell flat and most saw right through it. At the end of the day, voters had a choice between one candidate who ran on his record and one who ran away from his record.

This election turned out to be a no-brainer; Westchester Couldn’t Afford Noam Bramson!!!!!

  3. “Heads” -1 Bramson – 0 Step 1 Complete
The heads have spoken. Even with the intrinsic 2 to 1 advantage of Democratic enrollment this part time mayor was not up to the task. He should have planned it better by bringing sides together instead of dividing a city. He should have followed a sound, responsible economic plan. He should have given respect to those he serves. Failing track record coupled with his own brand of arrogance led to his failure. Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make proud. This was said over a thousand years ago and it still applies.

Good work to everyone who made this happen, especially Mr Astorino who followed through with his pledge to the constituents. Sounds crazy, a politician who does what he promised, but he got this ” head’s” vote, along with countless numbers of Noam’s own party followers. They saw right through him. Good for youze guys!

Step 1is now complete. Step 2 will end the mayoral destruction of this fine city.
Ousted as a congressional hopeful, resoundingly sent home from the county level and now we usher him out the door of his North Ave. office. Anyone wanna join me with this?

What’ that expression, stick a fork in his….well you know the rest.

Go get him my fellow heads!

  4. I think Noam got what he deserves and maybe he deserves more.
I think Noam got what he deserved. He may need some more of it as someone this Hubris will not think it is him.
He screwed New Rochelle Citizens every time he thought of his political career over New Rochelle which was every second of every day.
Getting in bed with Cappelli? What did that buy us?
New Roc, Trump Cappelli and LeCount Place. The tax abatement’s from Noams hand picked IDA.
    I know first hand.
Avalon’s and the skewed FEIS on students.
He drained the tax payer and they finally noticed.
Now heads don’t count on Echo Bay that should be dead on arrival.
His constant screwing of the Veterans and him treating the armory like a bargaining chip.
Barry Fertel plural vote, Jared Rice plural vote its a bit disgusting the same gene pool over and over.
    Hubris. Time to go.

  5. Can’t wait to oust him as
Can’t wait to oust him as mayor of NR and send him into the real world looking for a job. The man has done nothing for NR except spend millions of tax dollars to create luxury rental apartments while the middle class property owners have gone broke. Let me give him a clue: Agenda 21 is NOT going to bring back the good paying jobs that the U.S. government sent packing. If you want to accomplish something, start giving tax breaks to major retailers and manufactures who want to come to NR. That will change the economic climate. Until then, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

BTW, if he gets any thinner, he’ll really be an empty suit. Somebody buy this man a cheeseburger.
