Obituary: Dr. Angeles S. Tiangco (1930 – 2012), New Rochelle Radiolgist

Dr. Angeles Samson Tiangco, 82, of New Rochelle, NY, peacefully passed away August 16, 2012.

Dr. Tiangco was born August 2nd, 1930, in Manila, Philippines. In the 60’s, Dr. Tiangco earned an M.D. in surgery and worked at Flower and 5th Avenue Hospital in New York City and later became Chief of Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. After having her third child she chose to switch specialties to enable her to raise her family and earned an M.D. in Radiology. In the 70’s she opened a private practice Radiology office in New Rochelle and became a leading specialist in breast cancer detection. She was most proud of a citation awarded to her by the Medical Society of the State of NY for 50 years of medical practice.

She is now resting peacefully with her deceased husband, Dr. Herminio Tiangco. She is survived by her three children, Joyce (Robert) Biolsi, Ken (Gerarda) Tiangco, Lynda (Frank) Zingaro and her loving grandchildren, Juliana, Lauren, Brandon, Tatiana, Nickolas, and Kenny; her brother Rogelio Samson and her sister Teresita Samson.

Visiting hours are Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 10:30 am at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
